ABOUT ME
SARAH DEMPSTER
Sarah Dempster is an award-winning comedy writer and journalist whose words have appeared in print, on TV and “the wireless”.
A TV reviewer for The Guardian and long-time contributor to Private Eye, she is part of the writing teams for BBC Radio 4’s The Naked Week and Frank Skinner-fronted panel show One Person Found This Helpful. She was a writer on Jon Holmes’ award-winning R4 series We Forced a Bot to Write This Show, has contributed to Dead Ringers, The News Quiz, The Now Show and The Skewer and was script consultant on the first series of Simon Blackwell, Chris Addison and Martin Freeman’s BAFTA-nominated Sky sitcom Breeders.
As a journalist she has been a TV columnist and features writer for The Guardian, a columnist for The Word magazine (RIP), a regular contributor to The Sunday Times and Radio Times and, during the early Mesolithic period, a music writer for the organ formerly known as New Musical Express.
Sarah has worked as a script editor on film and TV projects for, among others, Aardman Animations, the BFI, Warp, Sky Arts, BBC Children’s and the New Zealand Film Commission.
A member of BAFTA Connect, Sarah is also a script reader and script consultant. She lives next to an allotment in Norfolk with one man and a similar number of children.
